XP Engine
Configure how much Steps are worth and when XP is released.
Settings → XP Engine controls the XP economy. It has five tabs.
| Tab | Configures |
|---|---|
| Calculation Formula | The Base Multiplier and the Complexity and Effort level weights, with a live simulator. |
| Stage-Based Release | The release gates: how much of a Step’s XP each gate holds, and the stages (blocks) inside each gate. |
| Priority Weights | The weight of each Quest priority, from Lowest to Highest. |
| Council Participation | The share of a completed Quest’s XP each Council role receives. |
| Versioning & History | Draft, active and archived versions of the configuration. |
Defaults
- Formula: Complexity × Effort × Base multiplier (10) × Priority.
- Gates: a delivery gate of 70%, released automatically by status (30% development, 40% review/QA, 30% done), and an acceptance gate of 30%, released manually by the King at completion.
- Council participation: 30% per role, added on top of the Heroes’ XP.
Versions
Every change is saved as a new version (Save as New Version) and activated from Versioning & History. Only Steps created after a version is activated use it; existing Steps keep the version they were created with (Historical Data Locked).
See Earning XP for how this looks to Heroes.
