Approvals for long sessions
Sessions over the allocation threshold wait for the General or the King.
To keep hours honest, a session longer than the allocation threshold has to be approved before it counts. The threshold is 8 hours by default; the King can set it between 3 and 24 hours.
As a Hero: send a long session for approval
When you allocate a session over the threshold, the panel shows This split needs approval before it counts, with the Recorded time, the Allocation threshold, and how much you are Over by.
Explain why it ran long
Why did this session run long? is required. The reviewer reads it beside your split.
Split the minutes as usual
Click Send for approval
The Quest’s General and the King are notified.
Until it is decided, the session shows Waiting for approval in your pending sessions. When it is decided you receive Time request decided.
As a reviewer: decide a request
Who decides: the King and Super Admins decide any request. The General of a Quest decides requests on that Quest. Nobody can decide their own request.
Open Time Requests in the sidebar (it shows a count of waiting requests), or the Time Requests tab on a Quest. Click Review on a request.
The Review time over the threshold window lists each Step in the Hero’s split:
- Tick the Steps whose time you approve (or use All / None).
- Write a Note to the Hero. It is required unless you approve everything.
- Click Approve, Approve selected, or Decline.
| Outcome | What happens |
|---|---|
| Approved | The split goes into force as sent. |
| Partly approved | Only the approved Steps’ time counts; the session becomes their total. |
| Extra declined | The session is cut back to the threshold, and the Hero splits it again. |
Every decision is recorded with who made it, in which capacity, when, and the note. A request can be decided only once.
Change the threshold
The King changes it in Settings → Time Tracking → Allocation threshold. Requests already sent keep the threshold they were sent under. See Time tracking settings.
