Time trackingThe battle timer

The battle timer

Time your work on a Quest with the timer in the header.

In Questify, timing your work on a Quest is called battling in it. The timer lives in the app header and is available on every page.

Start the timer

Click Play on the timer pill (Start the timer). The pill shows 00:00 when idle; once started it shows the running time.

You don’t choose a Quest up front: the timer is general, and you say which Quest the time was for when you stop it.

The timer runs on the server: refreshing the page, closing the tab or switching devices loses nothing. You can run one timer at a time.

Stop the timer

Click Pause (Stop the timer). The minutes are calculated from the server’s clock, and the allocation panel opens. It asks Which quest was this time for?:

Click Choose quest

Select the Quest you battled in opens. Search by Quest name or key (press / to jump to the search box), or pick one under Recently battled. The Quests I’m in tab lists the Quests you can time.

Click Choose quest in the footer

The footer names the Quest first: Logging time to … · QST-12.

Split the minutes

Give the minutes to your Steps on that Quest. See Allocating your time.

If you stop the timer on a Quest page, that Quest is pinned and preselected in the picker.

Which Quests you can time

You can log time to a Quest you work on: one you own, sit on the Council of, were selected for as a Hero, or hold a Step in. The All quests tab shows the others with a View quest button. To log time to one of them, claim a Step on it or ask its General to add you.

The Quest must also be able to take work: it is active, not completed or archived, and its Adventure has an active game board.

Super Admin accounts cannot run the timer. Time tracking is for the people doing the work.

Time from the mobile app

Time logged from the AAU mobile app goes through the same rules and lands in the same place. It is recorded as coming from the mobile app (ERP). A session started from the app already names its Quest, so the allocation panel opens on it.
