Content

  • Description and Acceptance Criteria, in rich text, with no length limit.
  • Images and videos in the description: paste or drop a file into the Description, or use Add an image, video or file in its toolbar. The file is stored as one of the Step’s attachments and shown where you placed it; a video plays in place.
  • Attachments: drop, paste or browse, up to 10 files of 100 MB each. Files embedded in the description count toward the 10. Videos (.mp4, .mov, .webm) play in place; click one to open the player, where you can also download it.
  • Linked Items: link other Steps of the same Quest, with a count of how many linked Steps are done.

Tabs

Comments

Comments read oldest first, with the composer at the bottom; View more loads older ones.

  • Write: rich text with bold, italic, lists, checklists, quotes, code and links. Type @ to mention a Quest member; they are notified. Attach up to 5 files (100 MB each). Comments are up to 2000 characters; click Publish.
  • Reply: click Reply under any comment. The reply box opens with a mention of the author, so they are notified, and replies are shown indented under the comment they answer. Replies are one level deep: replying to a reply adds to the same thread.
  • Edit or delete your own: hover your comment and use the pencil (Edit) or the bin (Delete). Editing lets you change the text, mentions and files, up to 5 in all, and marks the comment edited. Deleting asks first and removes the comment and its files for everyone.
  • The author’s name and avatar open their Vault: your own, or another Hero’s if you are a King, General, Admin or Super Admin. For everyone else they are plain text.
Activities

The Step’s history in plain sentences: who moved it from which status to which, claimed, assigned, released it, changed its type or due date, claimed or released QA, attached files, edited or deleted a comment, or archived and restored it.

Work log

Time logged on the Step. See Logging time by hand.

XP

The XP this Step has released, and to whom.

Details rail

On the side: Type (the step type, changeable here; see below), Phase, Execution (the status), Effort and Complexity (editable here), Priority, XP, Time logged, Quest, Adventure, Reporter (who created it), Created and Updated.

Change the step type

Picked the wrong type, such as Development for what is really Testing? Open the Type dropdown at the top of the details rail and pick another of the board’s active types.

  • Who: the King, the Council and Super Admins, on a Step they hold or a Quest whose work they direct. Everyone else sees the type as plain text.
  • When: only while the Quest is running and the Step is not done.
  • Where the Step lands: on the new workflow’s first status in the phase it sits in, so the card keeps its column. If the new type has no status in that phase, it starts at the workflow’s first status.
  • Traps stay Traps, and are offered only the types that allow Traps.

The change is recorded in Activities.
